2. A Few Romantic Places I've Been
Here are some of the romantic staycations I've been to near Atlanta that weren't mentioned above but deserve a shout-out:
Top (l-r): Glen Ella Springs, Glamp Blue Ridge, Burke Mansion, and Bottom (l-r) The Candler Hotel, Whippoorwill Treehouse, and Candlelight Forest
3. BONUS: Joint Couples Getaway
Looking to do a weekend trip with another couple? I just stayed (hosted) at Camp Toccoa, an airstream property directly on the Toccoa River, and loved it! The airstreams (2 on property) are clean and well-appointed -- each with a deck, hot tub, fire pit, hammock, and stairs leading into the river. There is also a shared grilling area and a beautiful bathhouse with a washing machine and dryer and 2 separate shower areas (if you don't want to use the one in the airstream).
And the best part, it's only a few from downtown Blue Ridge! The location is incredible!
Inside "Dreamer", outside "Drifter", and the view from Drifter (both airstreams have amazing views). Not only are you right on the river, but the Blue Ridge Railroad runs on the opposite shoreline, so if you're lucky, you'll see the train go by!
4. Still on My List
I want to visit ALL the places so if I've left something out, please let me know and I'll add it to my list! Here are a few places I haven't been to yet, but hope to visit soon: Dunya Camp, Blue Ridge Inn B&B, Fourth Atlanta, Stonehurst, Serenbe, and Foxhall Resort.
THANK YOU for all of your wonderful suggestions! xoKerry
